About Auburn University

Auburn University was established in 1856 as an all-male facility. It was known as East Alabama Male College. In 1872, the college’s name changed to the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. By 1899 the school changed its name again to Alabama Polytechnic Institute. In 1960, the institute officially became known as Auburn University. The campus rests on 1,841 sprawling acres of land. It has 427 buildings with 206 of those being academic buildings. Today, enrollment has reached just over 30,000 students with the majority of those being undergraduates.

Life on campus is full of opportunities and learning experiences that relate more to hobbies and interests. Auburn University features over 300 clubs and student organizations to participate in. For those who are keen to leave the American borders, Auburn University features a study abroad program that sends over 1,300 students overseas each year.

Miscellaneous expenses including the costs of books, supplies, transportation and other personal necessities will be roughly $3,552.

Graduate students who are residents of the state of Alabama will pay $5,898 per semester. Graduates who are non-residents of the state will pay $15,978. Students who reside either on-campus in a housing unit or in off-campus housing will pay $6,889. Miscellaneous fees will be $3,552. The price of fees includes the basic costs of living on campus and are similar to undergraduate expenses.
