Three I-O Psychology Degrees at Hofstra
Hofstra University appears in our ranking of the Top 10 Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences grants the Industrial/Organizational Psychology MA for Hofstra University post-grads determined to enhance how enterprises support healthy, productive workforces. The 44-credit, three-year curriculum is unique, offering evening Hempstead courses like Personnel Selection and Work Performance Measurement. About Hofstra University
Hofstra University originated on September 23, 1935. Truesdel Peck Calkins welcomed an inaugural class of 780 to The Netherlands, an estate bequeathed by William and Kate Mason Hofstra. In January 1937, it was chartered as a Hempstead branch to New York University called Hofstra College. Accredited in November 1940, Hofstra was chosen for the American Association of Colleges in 1941.
On March 1, 1963, New York State made Hofstra an independent private entity. Months later, its 240-acre Long Island campus became barrier-free for disabled students. Hofstra University Accreditation Details
On November 20, 2014, Hofstra University submitted the Periodic Review Report to the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) Commission on Higher Education (CHE) to satisfactorily extend the Level VI accreditation through the 2019 review. Specifically, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences has been accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) since October 16, 1973.
Hofstra University Application Requirements
Admission into Hofstra University is labeled “moderately selective” by Peterson’s since 17,143 of the 26,808 Fall 2017 applicants were accepted. This is a 64 percent rate. First-year students only soar into the Psychology BS with a Human Resource Management Minor after eight high school semesters. College-ready GED subject scores above 165 would qualify. Nearly two thirds rank in the top 25th percentile of their class. The average 3.51 GPA signals As and Bs are expected. Competitive entrants will present at least 1130 SAT or 24 ACT marks. Transfers reaching 3.5 GPAs or higher in 60+ credits receive Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships. Residency requirements mandate 15 Psychology credits earned at Hofstra though.
The MA Program seeks bachelor’s grads with minimum 3.0 GPAs in prerequisites like Statistics. Median GRE scores are currently:
